"The weekend is too damn short"
"Is it Friday yet?"
"Is it time to go home?"
"I really hate this place."
This is how most people start conversations at their job to start the week. In the middle of the week people start talking about how it's getting closer to Friday. And on Friday everyone turns back into a student, acting like they just finished their last midterm before spring break.
We all need to work and provide for ourselves and our families but is this how we have to do it? Is this how life is supposed to be? We start this cycle in school, and it continues throughout our working lives. Most people* won't be able to retire, so they will basically be in this cycle until the day they die.
As Jay-Z would say, "This can't be life." So start changing the cycle. Go crazy and make this Monday an awesome. Do something new after work. Make a new friend. Find a new hobby. Who knows what can happen? Don't let everyone suck you into acting the way they do. There's not actually a rule saying Monday or any other day has to suck. Try it and see what happens.
* - According to the 2015 CareerBuilder's annual retirement survey, "54% of senior workers (age 60+) say they'll work after retiring from their current career -- up from 45% last year. Of this group, 81% say they'll most likely work part-time, while 19% plan to continue working full-time. Customer service, retail and consulting are the three most common jobs these workers plan to pursue."
